Keep it brief for male cancer this Valentine’s Day
27 January 2010
This Valentine’s Day, why not add some colour to the man in your life’s dowdy pant drawer? Ted Baker’s specially designed underwear collection, in aid of the Everyman male cancer campaign, allows you to do just that - whilst helping to save lives in the process.
Ted Baker is donating 5% of sales from any underwear with the Everyman logo on the box and by including a self-examination guide with every pair, is helping further to promote testicular cancer awareness and encourage men to check themselves more regularly.
The pants are on sale now and come in 3 different styles – fitted, brief and button-fly boxer.
Craig Smith, Ted Baker Brand Communication Director said, “We wanted to work with Everyman so that we could raise money for important research into male cancer as well as inform our customers about the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer. It is also important for us to work with a charity that has the same brand values as Ted Baker.”
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men aged from 14-44. However, there is a 99% cure rate if caught early enough - so awareness is vital.
“The key to tackling this type of cancer is to catch it early and so it is massively important that men regularly check themselves and go and see their GP straight away if they do find a lump,” commented Everyman spokesman Jon Street. “It’s great to be able to team up with a brand like Ted Baker to help us get that message across and also to be able to deck men out in a nice new pair of pants in the process!”
