Follow some of our top tips and get your event underway!
Choose an idea
The simplest ideas are often the best. Consider your target audience, your budget and the time you have available - most importantly, choose an event you will enjoy!
Plan ahead
Planning in advance is the key to a successful event, ask friends, family or colleagues for help, be realistic about what you can achieve, but also set yourself a target!
Date and venue
Choose a date that does not conflict with public holidays or another events, research your venue and make sure your have all the facilities your event requires.

Fundraising
You may decide to raise money through ticket sales, auctions, raffles or collections. Think of creative fundraising ideas that are fun, inclusive and easy to organise.
Remember your plan is to raise money, so keep your costs down. The less you spend the more you will be able to raise for the charity, so try to get as much as possible for free. Ask local businesses for sponsorship, gifts in kind or their services.
Who do you invite?
Invite all your family members, friends, colleagues and then ask them to invite all their contacts - the more people you can get the better!
Publicity
To make your event a success you need to publicise it. Try and get lots of local publicity by using posters, flyers or by contacting your local newspaper and radio.
