ASDA shows sterling support for Everyman

Supermarket chain ASDA pulled out all the stops in 2007 to raise an incredible £445,000 for Everyman's research.  The money was raised through a range of activities involving staff, customers and suppliers and makes it the biggest partnership to date for The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign.

Stores around the country organised a range of fundraising activities including sponsored shave-a-thons, bike rides and customer collections.  Money was also raised via a number of product promotions, including specially designed key ring and George t-shirts, supported by Frank Skinner.

Lisa Burnett, Head of Community Involvement at ASDA said “We really wanted to help put male cancer on the map, especially as it touches the lives of so many of our colleagues and customers.  The response in stores has been amazing and we are pleased to have not only to have raised money for vital research, but also help to raise awareness of these cancers”
